EdIT workshops are intended to provide parent participants with the opportunity to learn in a fun, innovative, and engaging manner. Our hands-on approach seeks to build on each participant’s intrinsic qualities and strengths to help them introduce gained knowledge to their children across the family and community learning environment.
Workshops are divided into two core areas, ones that utilize the arts (visual art, music, and/or dance) and non-arts workshops that utilize hands-on learning approaches. All sessions incorporate academic concepts and content areas, such as social studies, literacy, language, the arts, and the sciences. Workshops are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and all participants are provided with handouts and activities that they can immediately put into practice.
