Parent and Family Workshops
EdIT’s core services include parent and family workshops that blend the arts (visual art, music, dance, storytelling) and academics to deliver a fun, relevant, and practical learning experience. We employ a
hands-on approach that seeks to build upon each participant’s intrinsic qualities and strengths that assists in introducing gained knowledge across the family and community learning environment.
Our workshop delivery strategy includes sharing of current knowledge and practice, engaging participants in interactive activities to fully exercise their multiple intelligences, and to provide the tools and confidence needed to share in the home learning environment. Our objective also includes providing participants with additional supports that serves to enhance, further, and supplement what their children learn throughout the regular school day.
Leadership Training
EdIT also provides leadership training to parents within the school community that serves to build or further expand their existing leadership capacities. Our team focuses on multiple areas, such as communication and critical thinking, and fuses that with each participant's own internal skills and qualities to develop well-rounded and confident leaders.
Presenters use hands-on and team-building activities, scenario-based approaches, self-discovery, storytelling, and individual and group presentations to allow for fun, informed, and engaging participation. Participants utilize their background knowledge, leadership qualities, and individual and group skill-sets to approach training in a way that is solutions-based and focused on positive and lasting outcomes.
Parent Guitar Classes (Rondalla)
Our group of musical instructors also provide Spanish guitar (Rondalla) classes to parents that incorporates the fun of learning music through guitar, while also working as an ensemble to provide school communities with performances throughout the school year.
